Decision: Compensation hearing by the Alberta Land Compensation Board pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 1994, c. M-26.1, s.23. The Authority had closed a road which provided access to the Claimants' property and the statute expressly provided for compensation in this situation. The Board determined that there was no change in market value of the land by reason of the road closure but the Claimants had suffered higher transportation costs. The Board made an award for the increased transportation costs.
