Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation to merge |
November 24, 2004 |
Following re-election of the provincial Conservative government, Alberta Premier Ralph Klein today announced a cabinet shuffle that will combine the former Ministry of Infrastructure and the former Ministry of Transportation. The new Ministry is known as the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation. The new Ministry will be headed by Lyle Oberg, previously Minister of Education.
Previously, both Ministries had responsibilities for development of public works and both were active expropriating authorities. Land acquisition services from both Ministries will be consolidated within the new Ministry under the Director of Land Services, Ron Link. |
