This article was originally presented to the 2003 Fall Conference of the British Columbia Expropriation Association. It was subsequently revised and retitled. In the article, Mr. Waqué discusses the implications of the "ignoring the scheme" provisions of the Ontario and British Columbia expropriation statutes.
