Appeal by the Authority from the compensation award of a valuator made pursuant to the Electric Power Act, R.S.B.C. 1948, c. 108. The Authority had expropriated all the assets of the Claimant which operated a electric utility on Vancouver Island. On this appeal, the court awarded $1,500,000 for market value, disturbance damages of $56,586.29 and an allowance for compulsory taking of $150,000 based on 10% of the market value. The total award was $1,706,586.20 plus interest. |
