Decision: Application by an expropriating authority to the Alberta Land Compensation Board pursuant to the Expropriation Act, S.A. 1974, c. 27, for a Certificate of Approval. The application was made to the Board in its capacity under the Act as the Approving Authority. In an earlier proceeding, the Board had conducted an inquiry and found that the proposed expropriation was not fair, sound and reasonably necessary. The Authority sought to acquire the Claimant's land for purposes of an expanded parking lot adjacent to a hospital building. The Board determined that the Authority did not have power to expropriate for this purpose. The application was dismissed.
