Decision: Application to the Alberta Land Compensation Board for determination of compensation payable to the Claimants by the Respondent pursuant to the Expropriation Act, R.S.A. 2000, c. E-13. Full taking of a 7,000 sq. ft. parcel of land located within the City of Calgary. The land was taken to permit the expansion of Stampede Park. The Respondent had initially offered to pay compensation in the amount of $455,000 and later increased the offer to $490,000. The Claimants sought an award of $4.5 million. The Board awarded $560,000 for market value of the land taken. A claim for disturbance damages was dismissed.
