Decision: Application to the Alberta Land Compensation Board for determination of compensation pursuant to the Expropriation Act, R.S.A. 2000, c. E-13. Partial taking of a 1.35 ac. strip of land from a parent parcel comprised of four adjacent parcels totalling 8.3 ac. in area. The subject property is located in Fort McMurray and the land taken was acquired by the Respondent for widening of Highway 63. The parties had agreed on the market value of the land taken. The Board awarded $3,659,250 for reduction in market value of the remaining land and $638,374 in disturbance damages. The Board also awarded interest at 5% per annum. Leave was granted to return to the Board for a determination of costs.
