Decision: Reconsideration of a claim for appraisal costs pursuant to the Ministry of Highways and Public Works Act, R.S.B.C. 1960, c. 109. The Claimant had previously obtained an arbitrator's award of compensation following an expropriation. On this application the arbitrator held that the retainer of an appraiser was both necessary and proper for presentation of the Claimant's case. The appraiser's account for preparation of his report and attendance at the hearing totalled $5,897.78. However the arbitrator found that too many hours had been billed and reduced the daily rate for attendance at the hearing. He also denied a disbursement for transportation costs. The arbitrator awarded $3,207.78.
