The British Columbia Expropriation Compensation Board commenced operation in December 1987 after the Expropriation Act, S.B.C. 1987, c. 23, came into force. The Act was amended in 2005 to terminate the Board's operations and most of the Board's functions were transferred to the British Columbia Supreme Court at that time. However the the Board continued to release decisions in outstanding cases where hearings had commenced. The final Board decision no. 266 was released on March 20, 2006.

These statistics include all written decisions released by the Board for which formal decision numbers were assigned. Note also that while the Board commenced operation in December 1987 no decisions were released that year.
